| Millennium Multimedia Purchases Carbondale Facility |
| Millennium Multimedia, Inc., a division of Millennium Packaging, Dickson City, has purchased the 135,000 square foot, former SJ Bailey building located in the Business Park at Carbondale Yards, Carbondale. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has awarded Millennium more that $2.3 Million in grants, tax credits and low interest loans for the operation of a packaging and distribution facility. Millennium will create 300 new jobs. “The company intends to begin providing contract manufacturing and packaging services for several large national companies, concentrating on liquid fill products and bottle decorating,” said Dean Spasto, Millennium Multimedia, Inc. Millennium Multimedia, Inc. is a division of Millennium Packaging Services, Inc. Currently located in Dickson City, Millennium Packaging is an assembly and packaging firm specializing in point of sale displays, mailers, audio books and software. In addition to assembly and packaging of digital media, Millennium provides bulk packaging, presort and shipping services, inkjet mailings, specialized packaging and promotion, and multi-media packaging services for wholesale distributors. “This project would not be possible without the cooperation of The City of Carbondale, The Carbondale Industrial Development Authority (CIDA), Carbondale Lackawanna Industrial Development Company (CLIDCO) and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” said Austin J. Burke, president of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. “We are thrilled to add Millennium to Carbondale’s business community.” "We're very excited to bring the Millennium Multimedia project to fruition here in the City of Carbondale. With over 300 local people employed when the company is fully operational, the greater Carbondale economy will surely see a much needed boost,” said Mayor Justin Taylor. “This is another great step forward for the City and the region, especially as we continue our strategic plan to revitalize Carbondale and rebuild a strong sense of community pride.”
