Maxwell’s quote could have very well been written to describe the economic development work of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce.
For more than 70 years our economic development affiliates -The Scranton Plan, Scranton Lackawanna Industrial Building Company (SLIBCO), and the Lackawanna Industrial Fund Enterprises (LIFE) have been a community champion, providing leadership and financial investment to grow Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
It was in 1945, during end of World War II that the leadership of Greater Scranton’s business community came together to develop a nationally benchmarked model for community and economic development. In 2017, that vision remains and is engrained as fundamental in our approach to growing business and our community.
We are an ever-evolving community, as is our approach to site selection and marketing. Our work plan, built upon a platform of business attraction, sustainment and growth is supported by private business, higher education, government and workforce and economic development partners. Cutting edge technologies are incorporated into our marketing plan, which leads me to welcome and encourage you to utilize this website as a tool for site selection and workforce development.
Our goal is to provide a current, comprehensive resource for available real estate, community demographics, workforce development data, financing, incentives and entrepreneurship. I invite you to bookmark our site and call upon our award-winning staff to assist in all aspect of your site selection process.
Like the forefathers that came before us, our volunteer board and staff are committed and continue to grow jobs and increasing community investment in northeastern Pennsylvania. We are confident that you will find this website an essential resource to support your business success.
