In 1945 the Scranton Chamber of Commerce along with community leaders throughout Lackawanna County developed a strategy entitled “The Scranton Plan” — a blueprint for workforce development and up-building of our region. For 75 years businesses, governments, individuals and institutions have invested time and treasure to continue a legacy of business ATTRACTION, SUSTAINMENT and GROWTH.
In 1981, The Scranton Plan was restructured, establishing a series of five-year work plans focused on economic and workforce development marketing. Over that time, The Chamber has completed 433 projects that have created and retained more than 47,600 jobs and facilitated $2.6 billion in community investment.
In January, The Scranton Plan will celebrate its community accomplishments over the past five years and announce new goals and an ambitious workplan for 2021 through 2025.
If you would like to renew your Scranton Plan membership or join your fellow community leaders in supporting our economic and workforce marketing initiatives during the 2021-2022 Funding Campaign, please submit the online form below or download, complete and mail a campaign pledge card.
